Light weight inexpensive Chain Prop for Halloween How to

We love Halloween! In our home we have made 100s of Halloween props over the years. Here is a quick easy and cheap idea that can be used in so many ways! Think decor, costumes props etc.
You will need:
2 pieces of 6ft pipe insulator. It has the adhesive already on it. We got ours from Lowe's in the plumbing dept.
a cutting board
and a sharp knife (we used a bread knife)

Then you cut the pieces into slices and put together in a chain.
HINT: Don't remove the adhesive backs until you have already strung the slice through the last loop.

Vampire Pumpkins

AAAHHHH! Vampire pumpkins! Ha! My mom and I made a bunch of these guys last year. They were a huge hit so of course I am going to make them every year now. Traditions, you know? As you can probably already tell they are crazy easy to make. But I will show you how anyway!

Gather your supplies. All you need are ornamental size pumpkins, cheap vampire teeth and a knife. I just used a steak knife but you can use the ones from the pumpkin carving kits too.

I used a marker to mark a couple guide lines around my teeth.

Then cut it out. The piece popped out relatively easily. I did have to trim quite a bit more from the hole to make the teeth really fit. You want them in there snug but now tight.

And voila! Vampire pumpkins! I have a couple suggestions when making them. Make them closer to Halloween. You don't want moldy or rotten pumpkins before the big day. Clean out as many of the seeds and insides as you can to help prevent mold. You can also spray the inside of the hole with a mix of half water and half bleach. That helps a ton with rot.

I am thinking some of these little guys need googly eyes! Big ones! Maybe some blood dripping down their chin? I love Halloween.

Peace out- AnneMarie

The Candy mummy-An easy DIY treat or favor for you favorite Halloween Monsters

My Mom made these Mummy treats for my family years ago and we loved them so much!
Aren't they cute!?!
She is the most wonderful mother any girl could ask for and I love her with all of my heart! My Mom is very elegant and amazing and made holidays unforgettable long before Martha or Pinterest even existed.
She is one of my very best friends and I love continuing on the traditions she began with my own family.

Here is what you will need for one Mummy....

Rolled gauze (This roll made about 2.5 mummies and was wider than I wanted but the more narrow gauze was out of stock)
double stick tape
1 snickers bar
2 werthers candies or any round hard candy
1 Hershey nugget
2 wiggly eyes
scissors

The first thing you'll need to do is cut the "tails" off the candy.

Next with the double stick tape add one of the werthers to the snickers bar to form the head and one to the end to make the feet.
Tape the nugget to form the arms to the snickers bar.
Wrap with the gauze to your liking mummy style using the tape to secure where needed. Last but not least add eyeballs.

CUTE!!

Thanks Mom!

Look what I did! A shameless easy Halloween craft show off/tutorial you can do too!

Ok friends check out what I did this weekend!!
This is not really an official tutorial but a explanation of what I did. :)

READY? Ok...??(I say in my best cheerleader voice)

I just covered an 18x24inch canvas with Halloween fabric using hot glue but staples would work great too and I made sure that the fabric was good and tight over the canvas.  Then added my custom monogram vinyl over the fabric.

I should tell you that the first vinyl run did not stick using the indoor vinyl and even this outdoor vinyl didn't exactly want to stick but w some finesse and a nice hot blow dryer over it, it has finally stuck wonderfully.
I am planning on making one for every month and hanging them in our landing so all who visit will see it!
Actually I have considered using heat transfer vinyl next and ironing the next design to the fabric first and then putting the fabric on the canvas. We will see what happens. :)
Needless to say I love this!!
Looking for somewhere to get custom vinyl?? Check out my etsy shop!
LOVES!!
