Pumpkin Point Farms

Warning: This is a very picture heavy post. Just to let you know!

One of my favorite fall traditions is taking the kids to a pumpkin patch. Isn't it everyones? If my Instagram feed is any indication then yes it really is. We have been taking the kids to the same one for  6 or 7 years. It is the best. It is called Pumpkin Point Farms. For locals it is at 11800 south and 3600 west.

It is row after row of pumpkins. They are already picked which I actually love. It is great to be able to just pick the pumpkins up and go. No fuss no muss.

They have wheelbarrows that you can take with you to really load up!

They even have wheelbarrows for the kids. Watching the kids trying to push the tiny wheelbarrows is so stinking funny! They try so hard to control them and they just can't. I wish I had a video of it because holy moly it is so cute.

They have tons of photo ops set up which is great. Trucks full of pumpkins, Tow Mater, a horse trailer full of hay, piles of hay bails. And so on!

So cool!

On top of all the other photo ops they have a whole row of tractors that the kids can climb on. The tractors may be my kids favorite part. Can you tell? I mean Nicco doesn't even look kind of excited, emirate?!

I swear Lola liked being there. She has just gone into the stage of hating her picture taken. Lovely.

They also have two different corn mazes. One is pretty small and one loop so it is perfect for smaller kids. They also have a much larger one that is better for bigger kids. My kids did not like the big one! They cut through the corn to get out of it. Yeah my kids are THOSE kids.

And last but not least Mater!

So cool!

This is the gentleman that owns the pumpkin patch. The couple that owns the Pumpkin Point Farms are charming. Plus they really seem to appreciate having people come down to their patch. Oh and they do a hay ride from 5-7 every night. BTW. So fun! Everyone should check it out! Their prices are so reasonable and they are great people. Go local!

Peace Out- AnneMarie

Fall Bucket List

Fall is here! Yay fall! I am always so happy when things start to cool down. Too be totally honest I think that is why fall ranks up there with my top seasons. I am not a hot person. I am a cool/cold person! I love fall activities. I love fall food. I love the pumpkin spice and everything nice! So to celebrate fall a little bit better the family came up with a little fall bucket list. We went overboard with our summer one. We had waaay to many things to accomplish on that one so we kept fall to a minimum. We want to accomplish as many as possible over the next two months! Here it is:

*go to a pumpkin patch or two!
*check out the witches at Gardner Village
*go booing
*decorate! I know I am lame that October is half over and I haven't put up decorations yet.
*play in the leaves
*go to a drive-in
*make hand print turkeys
*Aunt Emily's pie night
*get some family photos done
*picnic up a canyon
*go to a corn maze

That is all we are putting on there. Who knows what will get done. We are keeping things loose. No restrictions! Basically no pressure for mommy to get it all done!

Look what I did! A shameless easy Halloween craft show off/tutorial you can do too!

Ok friends check out what I did this weekend!!
This is not really an official tutorial but a explanation of what I did. :)

READY? Ok...??(I say in my best cheerleader voice)

I just covered an 18x24inch canvas with Halloween fabric using hot glue but staples would work great too and I made sure that the fabric was good and tight over the canvas.  Then added my custom monogram vinyl over the fabric.

I should tell you that the first vinyl run did not stick using the indoor vinyl and even this outdoor vinyl didn't exactly want to stick but w some finesse and a nice hot blow dryer over it, it has finally stuck wonderfully.
I am planning on making one for every month and hanging them in our landing so all who visit will see it!
Actually I have considered using heat transfer vinyl next and ironing the next design to the fabric first and then putting the fabric on the canvas. We will see what happens. :)
Needless to say I love this!!
Looking for somewhere to get custom vinyl?? Check out my etsy shop!
LOVES!!

Pumpkin Planter

It is fall!! YAY! I love the colors, smells, tastes and sites of fall. I love the cool days and crisp nights. Oh fall, you so pretty. I thought with it being the first day of fall that a fun DIY was in order. A pumpkin and mum DIY. So check it out!

A pumpkin planter! It is crazy easy and so beautiful. The colors of those mums with the orange of that pumpkin is just lovely. It is a little bit of a bummer because it is temporary. Eventually the pumpkin will rot. However, I don't mind that because fall is temporary too! Lets throw caution to the wind and enjoy it.

The supplies you need are:
One pumpkin
One to two mum plants- I did two because they were pretty small and my pumpkin was pretty good sized.
Carving knife
Spoon for scraping out the innards of the pumpkin
Bowl or pan to gather the seeds
Spray bottle with half bleach and half water
Potting soil

Cut a big hole in the top of the pumpkin. Make the hole bigger than you would for a jack-o-lantern. It needs to be big enough to easily plant your mums. Use the spoon to scrape out all the innards of the pumpkin.

Super clean! The cleaner the inside of your pumpkin the better.

Flip your pumpkin upside down and cut a drainage hole. You can do this with a drill but I just used the knife to cut a hole.

This next step is important! Spray the inside and out of your pumpkin with your bleach mixture. Really wet it down. Then let it dry thoroughly. The bleach solution helps to preserve the pumpkin so it takes longer to rot.

Now plant your mums. Fill the bottom of your pumpkin up a bit with soil and then put your mums with the root ball fully attached. I shoved two little mums in my pumpkin. Then I  had to use my hands to put dirt in all the crevices. Make sure you don't tamp down the soil. You don't want it tight! It will last longest in a cool place.

Now enjoy your temporary but beautiful pumpkin planter. This would make a great centerpiece for a party. I will post updates of how it is holding up over the next few weeks.

Peace Out- AnneMarie
