How to make a Light box the quick easy way!! With a T-Shirt! No Sew! No Glue!

If you have ever wanted to sell something online or do anything online for that matter you know that the picture will literally make or break you. I have read tons of articles touting the importance of awesome professional looking pictures. A light box is a great way to ensure better pictures. Here is how to make one quick and easy with no sew and no glue using a T-shirt!!

What you will need:
8 16 inch long 1/2 inch PVC pipe pieces
4 1/2 inch PVC pipe cut to 14 inches long
8 1/2 inch to thread adapters
8 1/2 inch 3 way 2 slip and 1 thread
duct tape
white poster board cut to 16 inches x 28 inches
1 XXL white t shirt
2 clip lights with flexible necks

Step 1: thread together the 1/2 inch threaded pieces
Repeat 8 times
Step 2: Place the slip to thread adapters onto the 14 inch pieces and repeat 4 times

Step 3: Connect 2 16 inch pieces into the the slips and repeat to create 4 corners

Step 4: place so that one of the 14 inch pieces is on the bottom or on the floor
Step 5: without creasing the pre cut poster board use duct tape to tape the posterboard (matte side NOT shinny side up) to the top rear and bottom front PVC pieces

Step 6: Place T shirt hem opening over the cube so that the neck and arms are behind the poster board

 Tada!!

Clip on your lights so you have one shinning on the top and one shinning on the sides

Disposable Camera Challenge

I love photos. When I was a kid I loved looking through our piles of pictures. It was so fun to have a tangible snapshot of a memory. I feel like I have lost that in this digital world. It is so easy and convenient to take a million pictures. But then we have them just sit on our hard drive. That is so sad! Nick bought me a polaroid 300 in 2012 and it has been crazy fun! We have enjoyed having the instant photos. The kids love going through our jar of instants and remembering things from the good old days when they were little kids. HA! That is my favorite thing that they say. When I was a little kid.... Over on the skunkboy blog Katie has issued a fun challenge to combat this problem. The challenge is to carry around a disposable camera and take a couple snapshots here and there. Fill that baby on up with memories. Then comes the hard part! Developing them. HAHA! I have already bought my camera. It wasn't easy to find- I went to three places. You can find them on Amazon however. Disposable cameras are so fun! It is great that the haze and light leaks are part of what makes them fun and unique. I am so excited to get started!

These pictures below are from a while ago. I forgot about them. That is the problem! They need to be printed and put in a box for my family to look through as we grow and change.

I need to get this picture printed of Nicco! He looks so different now. Sometimes I forget how he looked with his crazy long hair. Handsome!

Babies!

I actually got this one printed of Lola. And I am so glad I did!

I may just have to give myself another small challenge of printing 2-3 digital photos a week. They will accumulate quickly and will be something we will always love.

What about you? Are you up for the challenge? I can't wait to show off the disposable camera photos here on ze blog!

The Golden Hour

I think it is safe to say that anyone that has picked up a camera has heard of the "golden hour". It is the hour right before sun up and sun down give or take a few minutes where the light is crazy beautiful for photos. I was googling some more info about it and stumbled across a golden hour calculator! It takes your current position and calculates what your golden hour would be. Rad! So we got our results and went walking. Our hour started at 8:03. The light really was just perfect. Now why are my pictures so grainy?! On to the next dilemma.

My Lola. She is so pretty!

My Nicco. He is so handsome and obsessed with Legos.

Again with the kids cause they are rad!

I want to experiment more during the golden hour. Have you had any success with the golden hour? Any ideas why my pictures are grainy?!
