A dream outfit for Nicco

The time has come to choose a dream outfit for Nicco. When he was little I felt like the clothing choices were really limited for boys. But now the world is my oyster! I love outfitting him with new clothes now. There are a lot of cool clothes for little boys. There are some super fun brands. I love that there has been a shift in the attention to detail for boys. When I was younger and wanted skate shoes I had to buy little boys that I had to order from a catalogue because you couldn't find any in stores. Now they are everywhere! Back to the matter at hand, Nicco needs some new clothes desperately! So here it is, my dream outfit for my boy!

Totally cool shirt for a totally cool dude. Again supporting small biz! Makes my heart feel good!

Remember that I said this is a dream outfit! I don't think I could get the boy to wear red skinny jeans. But how cute are these red skinny jeans?!

UGH!! How cool is this varsity style jacket? I actually want this jacket for me. Nicco would look totally rad in it.

Nicco is getting into skate boarding lately and he needs (needs HA!) a good pair of skate shoes. These ones are pretty cool.

Now all I need to do is buy these things! I love back to school time. It feels like a second chance. I am not totally looking forward to being back on a schedule. I enjoy the spontaneity of summer. I love that you can do anything at anytime. But the kids thrive on a schedule!

What are you buying for back to school? How do you get ready for the new school year?

Edible Finger paint DIY

We found this lovely idea on pinterest and HAD to try it!! What you will need is some Greek yogurt, (we used plain but will probably try vanilla flavored next time) kool-aid packets, paper to paint on, and containers to mix and store left over paint with. All you do is separate the yogurt into containers according to how many flavors/colors you have mix and then paint. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!

Even my 14 year old daughter Gabby loved playing with the "paint"!! As you can see above the mess factor was much smaller with her. LOL! We will be looking for a heavier weight paper for next time but using a double layer paper worked just fine this time.  Other than that they had a blast playing with the fun finger paint! I hope you decide to give it a try soon!

A dream outfit

The school year is right around the corner for us here. I know some people out there have already started back. Crazy! It is a big year for us because our little Lola is starting kindergarten this year. My baaaabbbyyyy. I might cry when she walks in. Anywho...  I want her to look her best. Back to school shopping was not always fun growing up. So I want to make a much better experience for my kids. Which is hard because they don't always share my opinion of what is a good clothing choice. So this is my dream outfit for Lola that she would probably refuse to wear. To be clear she wouldn't wear it because I chose it not because it isn't rad. Because obviously it is. Puberty is going to be a rough one with that girl.

Why hello to the cutest shirt in the frickin world! Pretty much all the Hello Apparel stuff is darling. You can't go wrong with the style! Plus I love buying from a small business. You usually get better quality and better service.

I love Old Navy Jeans for kids. They seem to withstand a lot of abuse. These are actually jeggings and I have no idea how they standup. Lola loves jeggings though. The less restrictive the better for that girl.

Hello cute lace bomber jacket! I want that in my size in black. Remember that this is a dream outfit and I would actually probably never in a million years buy my kids a cream colored jacket. It wouldn't last a week.

Lola loves chucks and the color purple. A match made in heaven. Plus you can get 25% off the entire converse website right now! Score!

I will be back another day with my dream outfit for Nicco. Which he would actually wear because he doesn't care as much. As long as he looks good he will wear anything. It is weird how we are starting into that shift of him caring what he looks like. Weird!

Also, somethings to think about...
1.  Now is a great time to buy/stock up on art supplies for Christmas presents for all the artists on your gift lists while prices are lowest.

2. if you are planning on giving gifts in a jar now is a good time to buy the jars while they are readily available.
Check out some ideas from Tidy Mom here...

AND
3. If any of you want to make homemade vanilla extract to give for Christmas, you should start that soon. It takes a few months to brew.
 Here's a link for the how to/recipe...

(I haven't made any before but I sure want to!!)
